Formation Design and Build attend Youthbuild UK (YBUK) Annual Reception

We were honoured to attend the Youthbuild UK (YBUK) Annual Reception last night at the House of Lords, where key supporters and award-winning finalists shared their apprenticeship experiences.

A special moment for us was seeing our very own apprentice, Romario Christian, take the stage. Romario was recognised as a Highly Commendable Apprentice of the Year 2024, and he delivered a heartfelt speech about his journey that truly inspired everyone in the room.
He mentioned that everything changed when he connected with FORMATION DESIGN & BUILD LIMITED through a workshop led by our Social Value Officer, Anita Louise Collopy. Since then, Romario has embraced the opportunity to pursue a civil engineering apprenticeship, and we couldn’t be prouder of his resilience and dedication.
Romario expressed his gratitude to FORMATION DESIGN & BUILD LIMITED for the support and guidance throughout his journey, as well as to Haringey Works for helping him step into this role. Angharad Chapman from Haringey Council was also with us on the night, as Romario is currently placed at the Broadwater Farm project.
With Anita and Angharad working together, we’re excited to see the positive impact they will continue to make in Haringey Borough.

Events like this remind us why investing in apprenticeships is so important—creating real opportunities for young people to thrive. We look forward to celebrating many more success stories like Romario’s.
