Celebrating the delivery of 33 new affordable homes across two sites in Bethnal Green.

FORMATION DESIGN & BUILD LIMITED were honoured to welcome the Executive Mayor of Tower Hamlets, Lutfur Rahman, to our Bancroft and Wickford project in Bethnal Green on Thursday 10th April 2025.
The visit marked the official opening of 33 new council-owned affordable homes, delivered in partnership with Tower Hamlets Council, alongside new community and office spaces. The Mayor praised the build quality, thoughtful spatial design, and the inclusive features throughout the development — a proud milestone for everyone involved.
The project was delivered in two phases:
Phase 1 – 18 new homes completed and occupied in August 2024
Phase 2 – 15 further homes and community space completed in March 2025
One resident, Esme, shared how her new accessible home transformed her quality of life: “Since moving into my fully adapted home, my life has significantly improved… I was able to safely isolate after my immunotherapy treatment, which meant I avoided a hospital stay and could recover at home with my children.”
Mayor Lutfur Rahman commented: “I’m delighted we’ve delivered these new, affordable homes and community spaces in Bethnal Green. They’re not just homes – they’re the foundation for stronger, more connected communities.”
