Supporting the Next Generation: Work Experience with Waltham Forest College
Last week, we were delighted to collaborate with Waltham Forest College to provide a group of their students with invaluable work experience placements.
With the support of their newly appointed Employability Coach, Denise Mensah, the students gained first-hand experience on one of our most impressive live sites — Ashley Road Depot in The London Borough of Haringey. These placements are instrumental in helping young people build confidence and confirm their passion for their chosen trade.
The students, specialising in both electrical and plumbing, fully embraced the opportunity and left with a clearer picture of life on-site and the rewarding careers that lie ahead.
We were also pleased to welcome Sharon Dempsey, Waltham Forest College’s new Apprenticeship Manager, who delivered an informative session on the benefits and structure of apprenticeships. Additionally, @Michelle Asamoah from Construction Youth Trust ran a valuable CV-writing workshop to equip the students with practical tools for their future careers.
These sessions, alongside the live site exposure, have given the students a solid foundation as they prepare for their next steps
