Formation - Supporting Community Spirit at St John’s VJ Day Celebration

“FORMATION DESIGN & BUILD LIMITED" had the pleasure of being invited by Glynis Webb to St John’s Community Centre in Woolwich for a wonderful VJ Day celebration. The atmosphere was full of joy, with around 90 local pensioners coming together to share a meal, wave their flags, and sing along to old favourite songs that brought back fond memories for everyone. It was heart-warming to see the community gather in such high spirits — laughter, music, and even a bit of dancing made it a truly memorable afternoon.
We are especially proud to support St John’s, which sits close to our Store Road development with The Hyde Group Housing Association, where our project is making excellent progress. Alongside delivering much-needed new homes, it’s important to us that we also play a role in strengthening the surrounding community. By helping the centre with essential repairs and donations, our team has been able to support its food bank, fundraising activities, and events like this, which bring so much happiness to local residents.
A special thank you to Glynis and her amazing volunteers for their tireless efforts — and to our own Anita Louise Collopy and Richard Devereaux for working closely with them to make sure the centre has what it needs. It has been a privilege to play a small part in supporting such an important community space, and we look forward to joining more events in the future.”
