Site Manager


Job Purpose

Formation Design & Build Ltd is a main contractor in the construction industry and has a strategy to significantly grow in the next 3 years. The business has successfully secured a significant amount and of contracts and the growth is on target. Due to this growth there is now a requirement for a Site Manager.

The Construction Site Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget. This position requires a combination of leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to coordinate various teams and stakeholders involved in the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Monitor and track project progress to ensure timely completion.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and supervise on-site construction teams.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members.

     Budget and Cost Management:

  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to the budget.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety.

    Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure construction activities comply with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures.

     Communication:

  • Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.

Resource Management:

  • Efficiently allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials.
  • Coordinate deliveries and logistics to meet project requirements.

Problem Solving:

  • Address and resolve issues that may arise during construction promptly.
  • Propose effective solutions to unforeseen challenges.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation.
  • Prepare reports for management and clients.

Environmental and Sustainable Practices:

  • Ensure adherence to environmental and sustainability standards.
  • Implement practices that minimize the environmental impact of construction activities.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with sustainable construction practices.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
