Job Purpose

Formation Design & Build Ltd is a main contractor in the construction industry and has a strategy to significantly grow in the next 3 years. The business has successfully secured a significant amount and of contracts and the growth is on target. Due to this growth there is now a requirement for a Surveyor.

We are actively seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Surveyor to join our dynamic team as a key player in our construction projects. The ideal candidate will contribute to the success of our main contractor business by conducting accurate surveys, collaborating with project stakeholders, and ensuring that construction activities align with design specifications. As a Construction Surveyor with our main contracting team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the quality and precision of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise measurements and surveys at construction sites managed by the main contractor, utilizing any relevant surveying equipment.
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to interpret design plans and specifications for construction projects led by the main contractor.
• Establish and mark survey points, benchmarks, and reference stakes to guide and support construction activities under the main contracting umbrella.
• Verify the accuracy of survey data, conduct thorough calculations, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Prepare detailed reports, maps, and charts based on survey data, presenting findings to main contractor project stakeholders.
• Monitor construction work to ensure strict compliance with surveying specifications and provide guidance on necessary adjustments to maintain project quality.
• Assist in the preparation of comprehensive as-built drawings and documentation specific to main contractor projects.
• Stay abreast of advancements in surveying technology and techniques to enhance efficiency and accuracy in main contractor operations.
• Collaborate with main contractor project teams to proactively address and resolve any survey-related issues, ensuring seamless project execution.
• Adhere to stringent safety protocols and guidelines while working on main contractor construction sites.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Construction Surveyor within the main contracting sector.
• Proficient in using surveying equipment, including total stations, levels, and GPS technology.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• In-depth understanding of construction processes, especially within the context of main contractor operations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to liaise effectively with main contractor project teams.
• Familiarity with relevant software applications for surveying and mapping.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a main contractor team.
• Relevant professional certifications or licenses may be required.
